Judy Kim is a New York based food stylist, prop stylist, recipe tester and recipe developer. When given the chance, she incorporates her background in floral design into projects. Additionally she works as an art director and visual content strategist. Her work has appeared in Vogue, Real Simple, Brides, In Style, New York Magazine, Huffington Post, Forbes, Women's Health etc. She wrote a recipe column for Delish, Insanely Easy Weeknight Dinners and remains now as a regular contributor. She also contributes to recipes to Oprah Magazine. Prior to her work in the food world she worked in Fashion, within the luxury and contemporary markets. Her roles spanned Merchandising and Product Development for companies such as Burberry, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Elie Tahari and Rebecca Taylor.
The early years shaped her present day career. She learned the basics about florals while working at a flower shop in Wilton, Connecticut during high school. Loving the experience she apprenticed at a shop in Westport, toggling the Summer months of college between a floral assistant job and a local restaurant as a server. It was her first exposure to the food and beverage industry. It gave her a foundation on food preparation and basic culinary techniques, while getting the basics about wine and spirits. In contrast, she was learning about composition, color and unique floral design, wilder in nature than was typically seen during that time period. That floral designer introduced her to the world of Martha Stewart, a local resident at the time (yes, she's driven by Martha's Turkey Hill house on many occasions to admire from afar). While working in the floral shop, she often thumbed through Martha's first book, Entertaining and the early issues of Martha Stewart Living Magazine, which made a lasting impression. But Judy's continued passion for food and love of design truly came from her Mother, an artist, master home cook, gardener and teacher.
